Contact Improv Jam — San Francisco
An ongoing Contact Improvisation class and jam held every 1st and 3rd Monday evening in San Francisco. Open to curious first-timers and experienced dancers alike — no partner needed.
Schedule:
- 7:45–8:45pm: Class led by a guest teacher
- 8:45–10:15pm: Open jam
May 18 lineup:
- Teacher: Rachel Saudek — mover, outdoor educator, and CI practitioner since 2010; trained at Earthdance, the Field Center, and FUNCEB School of Dance in Bahia, Brazil
- Musicians: Will Magid (Balkan Bump) on looped trumpet, kalimba, and percussion, with AJ McKinley on guitar, keys, bass, voice, and electronics — both performing live improvised scores
- Host: Erika Goodman
