The band made their debut at Nevada City’s renowned Mad Dogs and Englishmen Pub on Aug. 4, 1994. Over the years, band members have rotated but the core group continues with great shows and big crowds. The Deadbeats play the Dead’s songbook with a balance of improvisation and honoring the song. WOLF JETT The sound of Wolf Jett will make you dance, sing… and possibly even howl! Their all-original songs infuse folk, soul and Americana into what they call “Cosmic Mountain Music.” Co-founded by two life-long friends and musical partners, Wolf Jett combines the southern-fried vocals and guitar of Tennessee-born front man Chris Jones with Jon Payne’s endlessly groovy drums. Currently performing with Duncan Shipton (bass), Allyson Makuch (vocals), Rory Cloud (guitar), and Alex Benjamin (keys/percussion). CALTUCKY Born in the foothills of Northern California, Caltucky is a progressive bluegrass band forging a sound as wild and genuine as the landscapes they come from. Merging the technical precision of traditional string music with the improvisational freedom of jam and Americana, Caltucky brings a modern spark to mountain-born roots. Las Niñas Muertas (The Dead Girls) Come out early, grab a good spot on the park lawn and enjoy Nevada County favorite Juliet Gobert as she leads this all female ensemble on an acoustic voyage through the songs of Robert Hunter & Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir & John Barlow and other beloved traditional songs in the Grateful Dead tradition.
